Inspire the professionals of tomorrow to join your company.

How did you find your way into the railway industry? Was there a particular moment when a person, a presentation or a job advertisement inspired you to take the leap into the sector? Or was it simply a coincidence?

This is exactly where the Railway Talent Hub initiative comes in. We aim to inspire students in technical degree programmes and support them on their journey into the railway industry. Through events and networking platforms, we create opportunities to connect, exchange ideas and gain valuable insights.

Over the past three years, since the Railway Talent Hub was launched, we have witnessed numerous success stories. Many positions have been filled with motivated graduates who bring significant value to the companies they join. Together, we are helping to address the skills shortage in the railway sector.

To continue this vision, we rely on our member companies – and, above all, on the people behind them. Every professional has a unique career path that can inspire students and provide valuable guidance.

That is why we are looking for you to become part of our events and share your experience with the next generation of railway professionals. At the same time, you will have the opportunity to showcase your company, spark interest in your field of expertise and actively contribute to shaping the future of your organisation.

Several events throughout the year provide the perfect platform for this.

One example is “Meet the Engineers” at ZHAW. This established event brings together representatives from a wide range of companies and students. In short, two-minute pitches, engineers introduce themselves and their work, share insights into their daily activities and present current projects. The networking session afterwards is what truly makes the format come alive: students and professionals engage in conversation, ask questions and often discover a genuine fascination for the railway industry.

“The Railway Talent Hub provides direct insight into the complex world of railways and public transport through its various formats. This inspires new talents who will help shape the mobility of the future.”

How can your company get involved?

For our various event formats, we are looking for experts who can deliver a 20-minute presentation on an exciting and current topic related to the railway and mobility sector.

Get in touch if you would like to contribute. Whether as an engineer participating in “Meet the Engineers”, by sharing ideas for new student-focused event formats, or by proposing a collaboration with the Railway Talent Hub – we look forward to your support.

“With the Railway Talent Hub, our teaching activities are greatly enriched. Practice-oriented events provide students with excellent insights into the diverse day-to-day work of the railway industry. These experiences are an important source of inspiration when choosing study specialisations or defining bachelor thesis topics. Such formats bridge the gap between academia and industry and significantly support the career planning of the professionals of tomorrow.”
